New XD-9 in Greensboro, NC

Hi to all,
Picked up my first XD today ! Have shot rental XD's .. got "hooked"
Had a .22 lever action that was getting no love nor attention .. so, took it to the local gunshop and did some "horse trading". Makes having a CCW permit even more sweet !! No Wait !!
Brought 'er home to drool over and read the book .. hit the range tomorrow for sure.
Will be doing some reloading in 9mm down the road.
Any tips or words of wisdom for a new XD-9 owner ?

Welcome from a neighbor in the Triangle. Just clean it and shot it. I have not had a single problem with 9mm over the past year and a couple of thousand rounds.

Be sure to post a range report so we know how it did out of the box. I know some of the range rentals get pretty beat-up, and I would like to know what your impressions of your new one are. As I am sure you have read, the trigger doesn't smooth out until after a few hundred rounds.

OK .. took my baby to the local range today for a box of 50 test run ...
What's the phrase the "youngsters" use now days ? ... SWEEEEETTTT !!!
Man was I ever impressed by what the girl had to show me ! First 10 rounds were in the RED at 7 yards .. then I got "giggly" and let a few slide outside the red .. that's OK .. settled back down and proceeded to eat up the bulls eye ... Man !! I'm a-loving this hunk of Combat Teflon !!
Did notice that my strong hand grip was taken a bit of a beating between the thumb and forefinger .. sore right at the thumb joint ....
Anyone else have noticed / had this problem ?
Grip wrong on my part .. gonna learn to adjust .. like the gun too much to give it up right now. Your thoughts ????
