Newbie from the Springs

I pick up my 1st XD tommorrow from the gun shop, getting the XD40 Tactical, have enough short carry guns, wanted something to do some serious shooting with. Hope to learn a lot here. Thanks, Les

Just reading thru some of the posts, why does it seem most people either have the 9 or the 45, doesn't seem to be many that have the 40's, something wrong with them? Les

No, nothing wrong with them. I think most people who prefer a smaller caliber or want to save $ go with a 9mm and people who want a larger caliber go with the .45. My understanding that this isn't unique to XD and that 9mm and .45 are the most popular handgun calibers in the US.

Just wondered, as my carry is a Millenium Pro in 40 and I wanted a good target pistol in 40 S&W, I try to stick with calibers I reload for. Thanks, Les

Welcome to the site from UT. I have a 45 XD and love it. I have never even fired a 40 s&w but I am one who lets people go where they are most comfortable. BTW, I carry a 1911 Government Model(!) and do not even own a short compact pistol.

Thanks for the welcome guys, my truck gun is the original tank of the 45 ACP family a Ruger P90 that has about 3k rounds thru it and no failures, hoping for this kind of function out of this XD, if it performs as well, it will take the place of the Ruger in the truck as it's ammo will match my carry piece.
