Another "New to XD from Florida"

Boy there are a lot of us from florida. Technically i'm from New Orleans but i'm in the military and stationed in Panama City. Just for the record, no, they didn't get my guns after Katrina and had i been there they'd have had quite a bit of trouble taking them at that particular point in time. I've owned a gun since i was 5 (Winchester .22 semi auto). My kids will all be the same way. I think the reason there's so many school shootings is because parents dont educated their kids about guns so when the kids have the chance to get one they freak out and act like they're in a movie or something.

Anyway.....

Picking up my XD this weekend at the Gun Show in Pensacola. I'm going for an XD 45 ACP 5 inch with the black finish......and will accept nothing less.

I've owned plenty of other guns, and now that i have my CCW i'm looking for a classy carry weapon. After lots of looking i've definently settled on this gun. Here's my others:

Llama 1911
Colt Python .357
S&W .38 Police Special
Remington 1100 (not the 1107, the 1100 darnit)
Yugoslav SKS (long and short barrelled versions)
H&R .20 Gauge crackbarrel
Marlin 30-30

My next purchase (after the XD) is going to be a Stag Arms Model 5L.

Welcome! You will be pleased with the XD-45.

What do you think of Panama City? I liked it when I was there, great beaches (a lot nicer than Daytona Beach). I didn't see much of the base, though.
