Hello from Florida...
Just a new member checking in from Tampa, FL. I pick up my newest addition XD40 Bi-Tone Service Model on Thursday (FL, 72 hr wait period). It should go nicely next to my workhorse police issue S&W 5906 9mm parabellum. I’m fairly new to buying new guns. I’ve been around them all my life but have only owned hand me downs from my pops. I’m pretty stoked about getting the XD. I wanted something besides a 1911 like S&W and I tried everything from GLOCK to Taurus to the SW M&P, Beretta, etc. It came down to the Walther P99 & The XD40. It took quite a few rentals to finally decide on and fall in love with the XD. Great firearm. Hell I haven’t even picked it up yet and I’m thinking about the next one to buy, just don’t tell the wife.

My XD was also my first "non hand-me-down" gun and I am as pleased with my decision today as I was when I bought it.
