Hey, I'm in NC. as well. XD by far. I have the XD .45 and it's as good as advertised and more. I've had Glocks before and I just think the XD is a better package. Rent one at Calibers indoor range in Greensboro and see what you think.

Welcome to the forum, GeoGordie. Both pistols have their merits. I am biased since I shoot an XD in IDPA competition where I am routinely trounced by a gal who shoots a G17. I attribute it to "operator error" rather than any inherent superiority of the gun. Seroiusly though, I have great respect for the G17 and the G34, but at heart I'm an XD guy. See what works best for you.

Welcome to the site. I own a Glock 17 and an XD 40. They are both very reliable, and yet have their own personalities. If I were you I would hold them both and buy what feels comfortable to you. I prefer the feel of the XD, and I am more accurate with it. See if you can find a shop that will let you fire a few rounds from each, or rent them. I think either way you go you will be happy.

Welcome to the Site...IT's called XD talk for a reason lol so I am suggesting any XD is prefered to a Glock.
