Orange Tool in XD40 Subcompact box?
I just bought a brand-new subcompact. There is a strange looking, orange "tool" laying on the foam next to the hex wrench. What is it for?

Gotta pic? The only orange thing in my box was the plug that goes into the barrel and sticks out the ejection port when it was shipped. Kind of an "L" shaped thing?

I believe that you are referring to the small plastic chamber plug used when shipped new.

It is inserted into the breach and keeps the slide open slightly.

It is a visual indicator of an unloaded weapon.

that makes sense...they took it out for the gun show that I bought it at and replaced it with a tie-strap
