Greetings from Montana.....Great Forum!
Hello to all!..........I am an experienced handgun hunter, CCW permit holder, and just plain like to shoot. (rifle also) I shoot a T/C Contender in .221 Fireball, 7x30 Waters, .35 Rem, .44 mag, and last but not least .22 LR.
I also own a Smith & Wesson .44 mag & a Ruger MKII .22. I use all of these for hunting, plinking, and recreational shooting. As for CCW, I carry a Sig P239 9mm (which my wife can shoot very well), and, just recently an XD-45 Service in Dk Earth/black, and carry in a Don Hume "Open Top" concealment holster, or a S & W fanny pack holster. I wanted something more substantial than the 9mm, and after much research and looking, especially at gun shows, I fell in love with the XD-45 Service model. I reload, and , contrary to what the manual says, I reload and shoot all of my own ammo. I started with WW brass, CCI 300 primers, Power Pistol powder, and from prior experience, 185 gr Speer Gold Dots. Worked up to max load, and at 25 yds it shoots to point of aim with nary a hiccup. I have small hands, but the XD fits just fine. I'll probably settle on the Speer 200 gr Gold Dots for reloads, but will carry concealed using Speer Factory 200 gr +P for legal reasons. Great Forum here, and I look forward to getting some good info from some of you folks. By the way, its been warmer and drier here than most of the rest of the country, and I have been able to shoot quite a bit. Best regards...............Gary |
