Smile new from ohio
just got my new xd 40 4 inch service model. i recently lost my job at delphi corp. due to company bankruptcy but i will start the police academy jan. 22, 07. can't wait. the academy commander told me to get 40 caliber of my choice and i hope i made the right one. i will go to shoot it several times before classes start to "break" it in. any other advice would be appreciated.

Welcome. I have a quick question for you though. So do you get to buy your own sidearm and then the PD reimburses your for it? And it is still yours? Sort of like a signing bonus or something?
