Hello All. Just wanted to get on the Forum and say Hello. I Joined the Forum tonite. I came from the GunShop an hour ago, and ordered an XD-9 Tactical . Dealer said it would take a "couple of Days" for it to come in, but I have a feeling it will take longer. Can't wait. He is co owner of the shop and a Police Officer full time, with an off duty Glock 19 on his hip, but he had nothing but praise for my choice of an XD. He said that he has heard nothing but good things about the pistol. Store was busy and I didn't have a chance to ask him what choices he had for off-duty carry. I have a Glock 19 that I purchased a few months back, (my first semi-auto), I've been a revolver guy all of my life. I have about 300 rounds through it. A nice gun, but handling the XD I like the feel of the grip, and the trigger pull seems shorter and lighter. I don't have large hands, and the XD just seems like a better fit for me. I think my choice of the Glock and the XD will be a nice start for my semi-auto collecting/shooting. I am surprised that I went for the Tactical, for I usually like the shorter, compact models, but the 5" Tactical just "felt right" to me in my hands. I'll let you know what I think of it when I get some rounds through it.
I'm happy to become a member of the Forum, and "eventual" XD owner, and I'm looking forward to learning more about these fine Pistols in future discussions. regards, TC

The XD9 Tactical is a good choice. I have been shooting the XD45 Service, but plan to buy a Tac 9 this weekend. Let us know when you pick it up.
