Welcome - much info about xd45. For starters, check out Clint Smith's review of the XD45 at American Handgunner -

Welcome to the forums.. as for your question... uh, is there a reason NOT to have the XD in .45? Careful though, if you've been addicted to 1911's, you might find that this addiction may over ride that one!

It has a lifetime warranty and is a great firearm. All I can say is go shoot one and decide for yourself. I would have one by now if i didnt get on an ak kick.

If you get a chance to shoot one you will know why so many of us own XD45s. It will virtually sell itself. I have the Service model and love it.

I am a new poster and just wanted to chime in. Buy one! I just bought an XD-45 Service and will be picking it up in three days....stupid California 10 day waiting period. I've been shooting my friend's for several weeks and believe me (ALL OF US!!), you will be converted and flooded in XD-ness. Now go buy one!

Hello HT2,
Trust me once you try the ACP you will have to go out and buy one. That is what happend to me. I found a local range that had one to rent, I tried out and the very next day I went to Turner's and bought one.
