OH member... 45 service.

Hello XD. I’m in the AF and stationed at WPAFB Fairborn, OH. I purchased a .45 compact (wrong in the title) black on black and loving it.

At time of purchase, I was so impressed with Blackhawk’s CQC holster I added it to my collection as well… only to find out it doesn’t work for concealed carry. After research on your site, I ordered a Comp-tach C.T.A.C.. They’re very customer friendly and offered a military discount. I’m wondering if the XD will be too large to conceal…?

I’ve since put 200 rounds through her –100 WWB & 100 factory reloaded rounds from www.Precisioncartridge.Com . My dealer /range stocks it… I’m happy so far. It’s hard to only focus on the front site. I’m thinking of changing its color or adding night sights.

Well, see you around. Aaron.

Welcome, Aaron - I have an XD45 Service also...a great gun. I'm not sure about the Comp-tach holster, but Blade-tech makes one to be worn IWB (inside the waistband) that fits the XD45. It sells for about $65. You might want to install TruGlo TFOs (tritium/fiber optic) sights on your pistol. I bought mine at Gander Mountain in Huber Heights which is near you. They make target acquisition a breeze. Be sure to have the gunsmith install them for you if you decide to buy them. They sell for $90-$100. Stay in touch. We aren't that far apart and there are alot of other XDTalk members in the area.

Welcome, Grim. Nice te see another new member who's in the USAF. I'm living in Colorado now, but I'm still at the 180th Fighter Wing up in Swanton (I fly back for drills).

Does your CQC holster have the SERPA retention mechanism? I hope that this isnt against the rules...but if it's the belt loop version (non paddle), and it has the SERPA lock, I'd be willing to buy if you want to get rid of it.

Just a thought. Again, welcome to the board!

Thnx for the tip. I've been to their store numerous times eyeing up the goodies there. I usually head slightly west to Vandalia Gun and Range to shoot. I also picked up the gun there.

Where abouts are you located. Do you do any sport shoots or anything? I've never been to any type of competitions be am interested in learning more about them...

Same here. For the time being, I'm going to hold onto the Blackhawk (w/ the serpa). I may use it in the future. If I don't, I'll keep you in mind. : )
