1st Gun

Just purchased an XD 45 ACP service black and green. Paid $ 560 w/tax is that a good deal? Well this is my 1st gun and plan on getting my concealed weapons permit with my bro in the next few weeks. I've read alot of good info on this site so far. I plan on mainly using the gun in the range, from what i've seen so far some decent ammo for the $ in the range is the 45 cal acp 230 grain, fmj. I've seen that alot are using S&B and CCI blazer plan on purchasing them when I pick the gun up on thursday. Can you bring your own ammo to ALL ranges or do some make you purchase it from them? Well hope all had a good christmas and have a happy newyears.

The ranges I've been to let you bring your own rounds. (reloads, manufactured, whatever) UNLESS, you rent one of the range guns and then in that situation you have to buy their ammo to shoot through it.

Anywho, congrats on the new purchase and don't be a stranger.

Welcome to the forum! Yes, all the ranges I know let you bring your own ammo. Once you figure out what you like you might want to buy it by the case to get a discount. I have the XD45 Service and absolutely love it. It is so much fun to shoot. Happy New Year!

Took her out for the 1st box and she shot well! I used some cheap ammo blazer didn't like it. The 1st clip fell out so I reinstalled it and it seemed to hold, it shot nice with that clip. 2nd clip went in fine then on about the 4th round it jammed! Pulled clip out and reinstalled it and finished the clip. 3rd clip fell out like the 1st so i'm hoping there is not a problem with the gun or the mags. Over all nice gun to shoot will have to clean her soon.

Welcome!

If your mags cintinue to fall out and you've made sure you have been seating properly, I'd has to recommend that you get it checked out. That's not just an annoying problem...it could be dangerous if that's the gun you're depending on for protection.

Mine did the same thing the first couple of clips. I think it might have been the gun acting up. Just made sure to give it a good thump when putting the magazine in, didn't have anymore problems that day. Now the magazines stay in fine, loaded or unloaded.

Maybe it just needed some breaking in?
