Finally picked up my 1st (of several) XD
Greetings and salivations (or is that salutations?) from the Cowboy State! I just purchased my first XD (a 40 cal) yesterday and decided to join up here to pick y'alls' brains and share ideas and experiences.
My wife and I compete in Cowboy Action Shooting, muzzleloading, and a local "plate shoot". We have also run a few offbeat competitions at our club back in Florida. I cast bullets, handload, and love shooting anything that goes bang. I own firearms from an esoteric mix of manufacturers with a heavy emphasis on Rugers. I was the manager of a large sporting goods department a couple years ago and, as such, am passingly familiar with the XDs. I got some trigger time with a few of the first year production guns at a shoot put on by a distributor. The ones I shot performed great and I always intended to get one (or two...or five...), but somehow life kept getting in the way. Well, I got one now and can't wait to wring it out. I look forward to learning and contributing to the forum! Noah Mercy Sheridan, Wyoming |

Welcome to the forum. Is the wind still blowing in Wyoming?

I spent a night there once. I visited the "greasy grass" with my two kids.

kg4bcn, I was born in Oldsmar and lived in the Tampa Bay area, Jacksonville (and thereabouts), as well as Pine Island. My last home was in Holiday. I spent thirty years there and moved out here in 2000.
Where do you shoot down there? Hernando Sportsmans Club, Dade City Rod and Gun, or the indoor range on Dale Mabry? (I've RO'd at all those.) Dan, the logging chain I use for a wind sock is only at about half-mast, so it's pretty mild today! Thanks for the welcomes, pards! |

Noah, I've been to the indoor range on Fowler next to the flea marked and I go to a range down in Ruskin more often.
