Help-advice, my trigger finger drifts over???
Newbie here,
I need some advice. Maybe all I need is practice but I'll take any advice offered. When I shoot my first shot, I shoot well, however, as I further empty my magazine, my trigger finger drifts over and I start to "pull" and I can't keep the tip of my finger on the trigger. Ending up at the joint of my trigger finger. I almost always end up with shots down and over. I left the range pissed yesterday, need to regroup. Any help appreciated.

Do you notice if you are "over-releasing" your trigger finger when you shoot. I see it all the time while teaching on the range... let me explain, sqeezing the trigger, gun fires, a lot of people then release the trigger further than needed to fire the next round, almost straightening their index finger fully. Once they try to fire again their finger goes in a little further each round until they have their knuckle in there on the trigger. A lot of it will be practice, but I would try dry-firing a lot in front of a mirror where you can watch your trigger finger from another angle. Just my suggestions though.

Also try "pinning" the trigger after your shot breaks until sights drift back down, then slowly release trigger only until trigger reset. If you do that, I think you'll find your trigger finger doesn't move off the trigger point as much. I had to really slow things down to relearn trigger press on the XD.

^^A couple good ideas, and welcome to another Arizona shooter.

Practice practice practice until you can find your trigger reset without even thinking or feeling for it...it's all muscle memory
