Smile New XD Owner

I have been looking to buy a pistol for a long time now and finally decided on the XD .40 service bi-tone. I have been looking into what type I wanted and knew that the Xd was for me. Mine was made in 6/06 so I have the new finish on it. This forum was a major source of information when it came to what i wanted, how to shoot it, and the proper care for a gun. I knew very little about any of these subjects. I went out and shot the gun and am in love with it. Thanks to everyone who posts you guys give great info to newbies like myself. Glad to be on the forum.

welcome, and glad all of us have been a lot of help to you. I too found myself amazed at how much info I learned when I joined this forum earlier this year. The quality of information users provide is just mind boggling. Never before have I ever found places online that have people who are very knowledgeable and wanting to help others, than on gun forums. Just goes to show that gun owners aren't arrogant nuts like people think they are.

Hopefully you stay around a while. There's lots to learn here. Almost any problem you have with your gun, any gun for that matter, there is someone here that is able to help you with it. One of the biggest things I feel can be learned on here, is gun safety. I've always been safe with firearms, but since I started coming here, I'd say my safe gun handling skills have incressed a LOT. Much more aware of things now. Also much more aware of the dangers lurking on the street and being more aware of situations I'm in, watching out for myself and my girlfriends safety.
