Long gun guy new to the XDTalk forums

Hello everyone!

My name is Edwin, and I am a brand new member here at XDTalk.com I just recently purchased a XD45 (4") and have just completed breaking her in. This the the first Springfield I have ever owned, and so far I am very pleased with the overall quality and performance of this cool little gun.

But that's sorta preaching to the choir eh? LOL!

Well let's see...I like guns. Heeheehee. I am an Automotive Custom Painter by trade but now own my own Auto Paint retail store. It's easier on my body than being a painter in the trenches. I dabble in art when I have the time, (Airbrushing and Ink drawing mostly) and am into building up and riding Sportbikes. No tracks here or I'd be racing too.

As the header to this thread states, I am a Long Gun guy, and have been for all of my life, though that doesn't mean I don't have my fair share of Handguns as well. Leading the bunch is my 18 year old 2nd Generation Glock G17, which I have a G26 backup for. Being a Hotrodder I also have a 1920's Colt 1911 .45 ACP that I have rebuilt and customized myself mostly. Of course my brand new XD45 , as well as a scoped Colt Python .357, Ruger 22/45, and a wee little Jennings J-22. That's it for now. I've made it a rule to stop selling guns that I buy.
I have a bunch of AR15's and AK47's (I don't like AK74's) as well as my modified 1943 Inland M1 Carbine, a Bobcat BW89PDW, a FN FS2000, my Ruger 10/22, My Daddy's old Marlin 336 in .35 Rem, an H&R Topper & a Remington 870 (both 12GA). Of course the weird ones (or should I say unique?) are my favorites. I think of all the guns I own, my M1 Carbine is my favorite, followed close by the Bobcat and my M92 Zastava Krinkov twins.
I also have a small collection of edged weapons including a genuine Katana & Wakizashi Samurai swords.
That's about it for me. I'm getting used to this computer stuff and will get a digital camera so I can take pictures of my stuff soon. Just wanted to drop in and say hey, and say a little about myself.

Welcome! It always good to hear someone picked up their favorite pistol (even if they don't know it's their favorite yet; it will be).

Oh, it's getting there!

Though when it comes to pistols, I am an equal oppertunity kind of guy. LOL!

Like I said, I've been hitched to my G17 for 18 years now, but my favorite mistress (before the XD45) was my 1911. I really favor the .45 ACP round.
