Newbie From TN.(proud XD9mm service owner)

Just stumbled on this forum today. I haven't had my XD9mm service model but a couple of weeks, and it is quickly trying to knock my Colt govt. model off of the top of my list! I've put @ 300rds. through the barrel, and can't wait to get back to the range for some more target practice.

I was trying to decide what my next handgun would be, a few weeks ago:Glock 9mm, or XD9mm. I'm glad I went with the XD! Hopefully I can get around to ordering a Don Hume open top OWB from Pistol Gear tommorow so I can start carrying my XD.

I wondered if you'd get an XD. You told me that you liked them a few weeks ago. I go by another name on the 1911 board . You'll love it at the next shoot you go to up in Manchester. If you don't have a holster or mag carrier in by then, I can let you borrow one of mine. I have the factory XD holster, a Comp-Tac CTAC, and a Gould and Goodrich Yaqui slide holster as well as a double mag holder that you can use. I can shoot with my duty belt to help you out and let you use my normal stuff if you want. I couldn't make it up there today, as I'm at work. I might be able to get up there next weekend though, depending on my work schedule.

I had to get one! I didn't get the cool sights like you have on your .40, but these will do for now. I'm going to try out the Don Hume open top holster and see how it carries. As far as range time I've had a blast with it. It's a whole lot cheaper to shoot than my 1911, and with a little practice, I'll be more accurate with it.

I didn't make it to the match yesterday either. I'm hoping to be competing with it soon though.

I shot a match with him a month ago. I think that he's in the Manchester/McMinnville area. I live down in Podunk, well that's Winchester to you and me.

Like Demon mentioned, I'm from Warren Co. (McMinnville) and work in Manchester. I've shot one IDPA match with my Colt 1911, but hopefully, schedule permitting, I'll be shooting the next match with my XD9mm service. I love this gun, thank God I went with the XD9 instead of a Glock 17!

I'm going to try to make it to the indoor range in Murf. soon. I heard about it through my wife; yes she is my range buddy!!!!

Hey Demon, there is a gun show at the Sparta fair grounds this weekend, a bit of a drive for you, but the last one they had in the spring was pretty good.
