i just turned 21 last week and what are 3 things your supposed to do on your birthday?

1. Buy a Gun

2. Apply for a CCW permit

3. Get drunk...

I bought the XD 45ACP.. its my first gun... hopefully not my last...

im just here to learn more.. what would be the best upgrades for the 45 acp? sights? trigger job? thanks..

Welcome. Great first pistol choice. The trigger gets better with use, so I wouldn't worry about that. Just buy a bunch of ammo and shoot the hell out of it and feel that trigger pull get better and better!
Now go get drunk!

happy birth day dude. I know Thats what I did. Hit the gun shop filled out paperwork, ran to the sherifs office filledout paperwork then spent the rest of the day bar hopping with buddies(no one drove while intoxicated).

the xd45acp is a wonderful gun. if u dont have much pistol exp. a 45 is a bit much to learn but hell i learned on a 45.

i have to wait until the 12th till i can pick it up.. one of the guys who used to be in my platoon works at the gun store so he hooked me up.. ive put about 100 rounds through it already but i just cant bring it home yet... the days are moving by so slow..... ive shot alot of rifles.. im in the infantry and i came back from iraq exactly a year ago.. so yea.. pistols are alot different and harder too shoot... but still fun.. i would shoot every day if i could afford it..

Wecome in, it's a great place to learn and share. Good choice on the .45 mine is smoothing out nicely, up to 300+rds and getting better.
