Hello from Tennessee!
Just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself! I'm from the great state of Tennessee and new to handguns. I'm looking to purchase an XD-9, not sure if I want to go with the standard or sub-compact yet. It's mostly for self-defense and carry on me while running errands for my restaurant. Hope to become an XD enthusiast and supporter!

Welcome to the forum!! I am also in Tennessee. Clarksville..there is only 1 range that I would recommend in Middle Tennessee. that is in Jolton i think exit 35.. those guys have a great range set up. and it is airconditioned. the link is http://legallyarmed.com/joelton2.html

Wecome RoverXD! I just bought my first XD four days ago in the 4'' model, black, and 9mm. Even though I haven't had it long I don't think you can go wrong with an XD. If you're really looking for a self defense carry gun you probably want to go with the sub-compact. My Service Model is a great gun and even though it only weighs 2 ounces more than my current sub-compact I carry (Glock 36), the dimensions are a bit big for comfortable concealment. I will probably carry the XD in cooler weather when I have a light jacket on, but summer attire is harder to hide it. Anyway, my XD has made a great first impression on me and I'm sure it won't be the only one I buy. Whatever you decide on I hope you make your decision soon so you can join the ranks of other happy owners.

I'm in hermitage guys, I go to Guns and Leather in Greenbriar. Very nice range there, great selection of pistols also. Some of you guys around Middle Tn area should check it out. If you need better directions just google guns and leather on the web. They have website, it's not much but enough to give you an idea of their staff and where they are.
I carry and xd-9 sc and probably will never carry anything else for ccw. I love it and have never had any problems. Desantis Holsters makes some nice holsters for the xd line, very concealable. Just a few ideas. |
