New here, after being impressed by XD in a class.
Hi. Just checking in.
I just finshed a class last week with Louis Awerbuck. Like my class with him last year, he praised the XDs highly. And, when I hear a full-time firearms instructor who sees everything praising something, I listen. So, I'm starting to look at XDs. I don't need to replace anything, but if a deal comes along... Mostly, I was curious how they compared in width (9 or 45) to what I carry now (1911, HiPower, HK P7). From what I've seen here, they are comparable. The thing is, in most of the posts with side-by-side comparison pictures, they are so old that the pics are inactive now. I gather that the 9 and 45 are similar in width- true? |

I think the .45 is wider, I know the mags are wider on the 45 so I assume the grip would be as well...

I own both 9's and .45's in the XD. There is only a very slight difference in the size between the two. So slight that I do not believe it is worth noting, because it doesn't change anything as far as grip angle or comfort.
