New XD 40 owner in AZ

Just bought an XD .40 yesterday and it's the first handgun I've ever bought. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I will this weekend. But it feels great and everything I have read exphasizes the quality of the gun and the Springfield Armory name.

I'm sure I'll have questions and this looks like the place to bring them.

Welcome. Glad to see another AZ shooter on the forum. BTW, great choice in a pistol.

Congratz on the pistol choice, there is much to learn and many $$$ to spend on accessories... Did you apply for that 2nd job yet? Your going to need it...

You think it feels good in your hand now? Wait until you pull that trigger, it'll feel 10x better... It's an amazing feeling. Just don't shoot yerself in the foot. Be safe... and most of all... KEEP those fingers OUT of the trigger guard unless you intend to shoot something... Don't get into that bad habit.

Yeah, didn't think I was going to like AZ (I'm here as a college student) but gun laws here are certainly a huge advantage. Only problem is as a Aerospace Engineer I'm likely to end up in California... But I'm going to try my best to end up somewhere else, perhaps in Phoenix.
