Bought an SA XDM 45 (4.5") for a CC gun a few months back.
I've been popping in on the XDtalk forums, here and there, both
out of curiosity and informational purposes. Figured I might as well
join and hop in on some of the conversations!
It was my first civilian gun purchase, so I spent a few months doing
some research and detective work, before I dropped the hammer.
Haven't looked back since, great pistol! I've even converted a few
"die-hard" Glock owners and a couple deputies, to XDM owners.

Now they've got the new "S" model out and I'm probably going to get
that one for my Mother (if it's anywhere near as good as the XDM).
She's 62 and just recently had a "rare" stroke and it's going to take
her a while before she's got her balance, as well as left arm and leg,
working right again. Fortunately, there was no mental impact/loss,
aside from frustration, etc. I figure it'll be a good replacement for that
ugly old 380 Bersa Thunder she has. It's become too rough for her to
'work' it, anyway.
I'm an Oregon Native, spent a few years wandering around the Western
side of the U.S., somewhat of a working "vacation" before I joined the
Navy for a few years. I've always been a survival and outdoors nut, I've
never found time spent amongst Nature, to be a waste of time. I'm known
to "disappear" from time to time, off in the mountains, with only what I can
carry on my back for a few weeks at a time. A couple times it was for a few
months. It keeps me "grounded" and constantly reminds me who's really
boss in this neighborhood called, Earth. I think everyone should do it, from
time to time, just so they know what Life and Freedom really is!
With that said, I'm also VERY passionate and active in regards to our Constitution.
I've never been big on Politics, outside the State arena, mainly because I don't
think we've seen a real "voting" booth since 1861 (when it comes to national
ranks/spots, the upper echelon), we've just been doing public opinion polls. That's
a whole 'nother can of worms though...
Anyway, look forward to meeting fellow Patriots, aim practitioners and fellow
2nd amendment practitioners! A right not practiced, is a right lost! Guns are
a great tool, hobby and exercise, we need more of the population doing it!
Respectfully,
James "PsiOptic" O'Connor
