Hey everyone, my name is Tina, a.k.a-Sunny, and I'm 24 years old. I live in West Palm Beach, FL and have been a native to this state since birth, which apparently is rare.
I joined this forum because I am in the process of owning and learning to use a firearm. I am taking this very seriously and I am the type of person who must know everything there is to know about a decision like this. I see how that can sound compulsive but I refuse to be a woman who owns a gun yet does not know how to use it or anything about it. I want to adapt this way of protection and use it as a hobby to become more comfortable with the deadly weapon I will have in my possession.
About 6 months ago, I experienced the fear and vulnerability of a near-break in. The man was under the influence and attempted to forcefully enter my home, knowing that I was in it. I then realized that there was nothing I could do to stop him from harming me and luckily the police arrived just as he had broken my bathroom window. I then started the research which led me to this point.
I have several friends who I can refer to with gun-related questions, but I always seem to get a biased answer for what fits them best and I know that in the end its what I'm comfortable with. I am not shy to asking questions so If you see the dumbest gun related question possible, please try to be patient with me! I'm still learning and I really do want to be good at this.
The gun that I have purchased which I can pick up on 5-12-12 is a Springfield XDm 5.25 comp Series 9mm. I am very satisfied so far with the purchase and plan to take my training courses throughout this week with the renter guns that they have at the range. I am a huge fan of this gun and can't wait to break it in!!
