New XD(M) owner in central Florida
Hello all,
I received my new XD(M) Compact 9mm this week, in no small part due to this forum, which was part of my research. I rented an XD at my local range after reading about it here and other places, and found it much more comfortable and accurate for me than the the Glock 19, a weapon I respect and had planned to purchase.
I made the purchase from Kyle's Gun Shop, which I discovered on this forum. I am very pleased with his price, prompt shipping, and excellent communication. I recommend this vendor highly.
Finally, I am grateful to this forum for making me aware of several things things that might have caused me anxiety as a new gun owner. For example, the stiffness of the new mags, initial lower capacity, and difficulty inserting when the slide is forward are all things I knew about ahead of time thanks to this forum.
I put 150 rounds through it yesterday at Ocala Forrest Gun Range, and 200 today at The Gun Shop in Leesburg. It performed flawlessly. I didn't do as well as I did with the longer-barreled XD I rented, but I am a relatively new shooter and expect to improve.
Thanks to the forum members for their accumulated wisdom that I was able to draw upon during my research. I look forward to learning even more here in the future.
