Howdy.

Lil background on me: Im 23, married with a 2 year old son and plan to have another on the way soon. I live in the outskirts of Phoenix at the moment but originally from central Kansas. I work construction as a welder/pipefitter and im about to turn out of my apprenticeship.

Been shooting for as long as i can remember. Me and my father spend alot of time together either shooting, or smithing on something most weekends.

As soon as i was old enough to buy a handgun i got myself an XD-45. It was the first pistol i bought by myself (wasnt a gift from dad..) and I absoulutely love it.

The only problem i have is that the magazines wont drop free when the mag release is pushed. If anyone can point me in the right direction on ways to remedy this problem i am grateful. nothing ive tried has worked thus far. Id like to start doing some competitions with the pistol but with the mags hanging up its screwing with my reloads. im kind of a perfectionist, ive done alot of practicing at the house with dry runs working on muscle memory and things of the like, along with trips out to the shooting spot.

Sorry i got so long winded. Ill shut up now...hehehe

Welcome from NC.
I broke in my gun with break-free and repetitiously working the mechanics. Load the Mags to the max and do at least 15 releases a day. Keep the mags loaded so that the spring in the mags loosen up. Lock the slide back and release it, do this a few times as well. It will eventually feel normal once you put several rounds in it and the newness is worn out. Great gun, XD .45 is one of their best not that I’m biased.
