New member here from TN...

Hi guys, I just became the proud owner of an XD45 today so I thought I would check in.

Funny thing is, I actually went to the gunshop with the intention of buying a Glock! The XD just felt so much better in my hand than the G30 that I just had to have it.

I'm looking forward to getting to know my new pistol better and hopefully to learn a few things from you guys.

Congratulations and welcome from Chicago.

Your impulse purchase, is in this case, one you will not regret (unless that is, it leads you down that slippery slope of buying more of them...)

In terms of welcome to the forum, here is a quick synopsis of what you need to know:
1. It is never a clip, it is a magazine (unless you are talking about a gun that does use clips)
2. It has probably been discussed here before, try the search box (although it isn't the best search in the world) and then go ahead and ask the question, since we all like going over old debates anyhow
3. 99% of the folks you meet here will be great, the other 1% will be great, but you caught them on a bad day
4. Join the NRA - even if you dont ALWAYS agree with their politics

Thanks for the advice!

1. I know all about the mag/clip thing.
2. I've already learned that from other forums...sometimes people can really get ugly about it.
3. Good to know.
4. Been a member for several years now.
