Yes, F1 is fun to follow and it's kind of nice to stay up all night to watch the first race. I like NASCAR too but they are two different ends of the spectrum.

Supposedly Lewis Hamilton will be in Watkins Glen this year and he is going to switch cars with Tony Stewart for some hot laps. Gordon did this a few years back with Montoya.

Huh...funny how those "circle drivers" are the best drivers in the world. You know, the ones who tend to hand the F1 drivers their asses whenever the F1 drivers try to compete against them on those "boring" circle tracks?

Some of us can enjoy all racing disciplines and recognize that each has redeeming features without trying to run someone else's sport into the ground.

But that's just me...

I tend to like WRC F1 and Le Mans and joke a lot about nascar. Nascar simply isn't very entertaining to me (it is in person though, try it sometime) But you can't deny that what they do still takes talent. Is it anything like the unexpected obstacles constantly being thrown in a WRC driver's face at 150mph? Not even close. But a 2 hour long 220mph race has many of it's own difficulties. Theres been several specials where f1 drivers and nascar drivers switch roles and both perform badly. You're taking both of them away from everything they know. There was also an episode of 5th Gear where Tiff himself went for a couple runs around a nascar track and described it as one of the hardest things he's done.

Thanks for your input. I agree that the NASCAR drivers are the best at their sport and Montoya has done well coming out of F1. A NASCAR driver in an F1 car would be laughable.
