Consider that I paid ~$700 for Ohlins internals and a full rebuild on my RC51 forks last year by a national race shop. I would imagine an old-wheezer ( ) like that outta be pretty cheap for a full fork rebuild/service by a good shop.

Just my .02. I'm lazy in some regards and this is one of those areas where I would pay to have something as significant as a fork rebuild done by a professional.
Exactly what I did. Pulled the forks off my zx6r at the end of last season and dropped them off at the shop. Had them back in 2 days for about $100 or so. Worth it to me as I just didn't have the time to spare to mess around with them.

I wasn't going to name-drop, but yes, I had Kyle Racing do the work. First trackday on them is actually next weekend.

Edit:

Actually I didn't really think anyone would care where I had them done...

No worries.

First time at Buttonwillow [second time on a track] four years ago next month. One of the instructers following me....

A-group on the big track at Willow Springs a couple years ago... I doubt I'd do the A-group there again, that tracks superfast!

I love this 'ol big bike. It's a great canyon bike, but I really would like a 600 for a dedicated trackbike at this point.

I can't wait for next weekend though. Going to Spring Mountain in Pahrump, NV. It'll be my first time there.

That's because they're finally getting to see what they've been hearing for the last two miles...

Mine's loud as 'eff with the 2:1 exhaust on it, sounds glorious though!

Your bike looks awesome. Its better to take your bike to a motor shop instead of taking risk and asking anyone. They will definitely help you out.
