I gave $1500 out the door for my M1A National Match, but I also got a LE discount. That money is about right for a loaded model though.
I got mine through Quantico Tactical in Oceanside, CA, though apparently they have multiple locations. May be worth it to call them.

dont waste your time or money for a dirt shooter. There are much better choices out there in the AK's price range.

I've seen a standard for $1500 at Palmetto State Armory, but they don't have it listed on their site.
I've been eyeing the 9822, loaded, S/S version, for $1650 on gunbroker, but, I can't pull the trigger.
I'm also thinking of getting an AR10, built, from GAP for about $3k

I picked up a M1A standard in a synthetic stock used with the shooters book it only had 150 rounds through it. He also added in a new wood stock added in for $1,100.00 helps if you make friends with the gun shop owner. I had always wanted one and he knew it and I was waiting on my DPMS LR 308 SASS to come in.
M1A great gun I think that I want a National next time but the standard shots better then I can, all my guns can shot better then I can

Congrats on the new purchase.. Treat it well, be sure to use grease and not oil, and it will treat you VERY well in return!
