Para PXT Range Report
Well I went out today and put the first 250 rounds through my new PXT. My very first shot, I have to tell you was VERY smooth. Trigger pull was consistant, I love this firearm. I had my Dad's 586 S&W firing .38 Special through it instead of the .357 Mag loads to have something to compare to for SA.
The first thing I noticed after I got my mags in and pointed down range was how much the FO front sight just jumped out there. I was very happy I went with that front. I didn't get the weapon on a bench to adjust the sight in, I was shooting at 15 yards as I couldn't get it closer at this range. On the paper I tried putting different sets of groups around on the paper, ya know 'cause when shooting 250 rounds it tends to get hard to see where your at on a single target. I wish I could go into elaborate detail on a range report, but I'm not a gifted writer, all I can say is I had ZERO issues with the weapon, I'm very happy I got the Para, and I can't wait to put this on a bench to zero the sight. Now it's time to get the Indian as good as his arrow. Oh BTW, the safety glasses were on, but there was no need for 'em. Last edited by QuarterHorse; 07-26-2008 at 03:05 PM. |

Haha I wondered how long that'd take. I tried to keep different groups going, but then I just said heck with it and they all blended together.
Mind you this was at 15 yards, I'm not the most accurate, but I'd make sure the attacker wasn't coming at me anymore either haha. The ones that look like "flyers" off the right and left, are where I started groups, but then thought they were awfully close to the edge to do that, espcecially since I had already been well over 100 rounds down range with it at that point.

Dont get cocky yet mine didnt start breaking down untill I hit the 500 round mark, Nothing but WWB 230 grain FMJ's and JHP's. It really is a shame because I loved the trigger, accuracy and reliability right out of the box then things started going down hill. Good luck hopefully you got one of the good ones.

Congrats on your Para. I've put thousands of rounds through mine and even some heavy handloads with zero issues. I carry one for my CCW and have absolutely no problem counting on it when if it comes the time I'll need it. |

Nobody's cocky, but I'm the same jerk who has a Taurus "pile-o-garbage" that has over 2000 rounds with zero issues as well. Maybe I'm just "that guy" with good luck.

Never claimed that the Taurus was junk, I dont have much experience with them. And maybe you are the lucky guy, if so you should be buying lottery tickets.

Hey thanks for the tip, I guess you can't win if you don't play.

Nice gun
Yeah bigun did the same to me back in Nov when I got my PXT. I have now put 500+ rounds with no problems what so ever. I guess that means I should buy some lottery tickets. Congrats on a great gun.
