Champion Operator hostler and trophy disassembly question
Hi, newbie here from Central Texas. I recently got a Champion Operator and am having trouble finding a good IWB holster for it. I bought it thinking it would make a nice CC in the winter, nice and light for a 1911. My oversight was the light rail, not allowing it to fit standard Commander sized holsters.
Anyone have any good sources? Have tried Comp-tac, they don't make one. Also, I have aquired a used SS Colt Gold Cup Trophy at the gun show this weekend and can not for the life of me figure out how to get the washer off of the front of the barrel. I have an SS Combat Commander and you turn it to the left to get the spring out......np. Anyone know anything about disassembly of the Trophy? I'm about to take a torch to it. |

You should be able to just depress the guide rod and unscrew the bushing.
Mind posting pics?

If by "washer" you mean the barrel bushing then you may need a bushing wrench. A lot of the tighter fitted 1911 pistols require the use of a bushing wrench to remove the bushing.

Thanks, I didn't realize tools were needed. I have ordered a couple of bushing wrenches from Wilson. I have 5 other 1911's and have never needed to use one for disassembly. The Gold Cup must be a tighter tolerance.
I'll take some pics this evening. Glad to post um. Last edited by ShellBait; 07-24-2008 at 11:32 AM. |

What is the model number on your Springfield Campion Operator? Can I get some more detailed (and larger) photos of that thing?
Thanks!
