Talking Proud new papa...

...Of a TRP Operator...

Im off to pick up my new TRP tomorrow morning (still not gone to bed yet, so today is tomorrow, if you know what I mean )

The shop opens at 10am and I have patiently (ok, not really patiently) waited my mandatory 10 days because stupid california somehow doesnt know how to look up information any quicker than 10 days.

Then I am off to the range. Loaded up 300 rounds of .45 tonight, just for the occassion.

I will post pictures when I bring her home tomorrow... I have a feeling Im going to be a proud new papa! This is my first 1911... And I'm starting off with a TRP operator... Talk about setting the bar pretty high up there..

Without further ado...

She shoots like an absolute dream. Dead accurate and gobbled up all the Semi-Wadcutter reloads I could throw at her. I put nearly 200 rounds through her and the other 100 went to my 220. This thing outshoots the 220 by a good margin. Both are way more accurate than I will ever be though. I did have one hiccup with it though, but that was my fault. In all of my excitement last night, I must have loaded a squib cuz the third round down one of the magazines in the middle of the range session I heard a hollow "thawping" followed by no recoil, no nothing. So I unloaded and took it to the range master and he popped out the bullet for me. More embarrassing than anything.

This gun did make me feel like a better shooter for sure though. After my first mag through the gun I already felt uber comfortable with it, so I changed the target and let my buddy shoot it. Hes more of a Beretta M9 kinda guy, and he shoots his quite well. Anyways, he picked up the TRP and fired 3 slow shots. Hit all three low of the bulls, right on the edge of the bottom ring. He looked at me and said "Your sights are off, you want me to adjust your elevation?" I took the gun from him, aimed and fired. Dead Bullseye! I looked back at him and said, "I think your sights are off, the gun is just fine!" The rest of the day was just like that. He got more proficient with it and for me it was just boringly accurate. (Sorry, no range photos) After a while, towards the end of the day, I began giving the silouhettes double taps. Its amazing how well this thing comes right back on target. I was able to keep my double taps right on top of each other (about 2 inches apart) at 7 yards. So then I began rapid firing... Needless to say, all head shots were right on target and in the center of where the face used to be. This gun is AWESOME!!!!

I think this will be the first gun I ever name. And I now know which gun I will take with me into the forthcoming Zombie Wars...

As you can see from the last two photos, this is the gun that rises above the rest.

Chris... You da man!! Thanks for selling me this thing. I couldn't be happier with a used firearm. Let me know when you plan on selling that Glock20.. I may be interested!!!
