SA 1911 Loaded
So I have been looking for a nice 1911 recently and came across the SA 1911 Loaded model with lightweight aluminum frame. It's the bi-tone model and comes with night sites and the whole works. Very nice looking gun.
Well, I have gone in about 4 gun shops today looking for this gun and they have all looked at me like I am an idiot, and said only the Operator model comes with the lightweight frame. Am I really an idiot, Springfield lists it on their website under the "Loaded" category? Model number PX9104LP to be exact. Secondly, every dealer I have gone to has told me they have NO springfield 1911's in stock nor can they order them from their distributor. What's the deal with this? One guy told me that it had something to do with Illinois laws and the fact that SA is trying to get out of the state? If that's the case, why is it only effecting the 1911's and not the XD or their rifles? Just curious, I really want to get this gun but thats hard to do when nobody knows it exists or can get anything from SA |

That is weird that they cant find it. The web page for the Lightweight model is Springfield Armory. You may give SA a call and see what dealers around you are carrying it. I am sure that they could look it up. If anything, the standard weight model Loaded is very nice as well. I have the Loaded Parkerized model and it is very nice!!

Operator means it has a rail. Has nothing to do with the weight of the frame.

I couldn't find any SA 1911s at local dealers either so I had to order my Loaded online. However, I doubt this is because of Illinois law. The XDs would most certainly be affected as well if this was the case.

It has nothing to do with Illinois laws. It's just a matter of simple supply and demand.
