Congratulations on a very fine pistol! I really like my 9MM EMP. It will soon replace my XD9 subcompact as my conceal carry gun. Very comfortable for carry and just a pleasure to shoot.

For those that are interested, they do make a .40 version now.

I am a very big Springfield fan although when I held the gun in a local gun store I was very disappointed. The gun felt really sloppy, the trigger was pretty stiff, the main spring was way to stiff, to the extent that my gf couldn't rack the slide, the slide also has a lot of play to it as well, plus when I applied the safety it felt like there was a lot of grinding going on inside the gun. Hopefully it was only that one gun, but with a price tag around 1k I was really disappointed with the quality, I know good 1911s, and that wasn't all that great.

I was able to try my emp today 170 rounds of fmj and 20 rounds of jhps and have to say i love it..I did not have a single malfunction, trigger got a lot better after 50 rounds or so, I just have to get use to the sight picture and trigger..

wow, that's weird. Both of the EMPs that I've had was the exact opposite of everything you found. I'd have to think that was a very bad sample for some reason...I'd be disappointed too with any gun with those characteristics.

This is the first report that I have heard regarding the EMP "feeling sloppy". And I did a ton of research before purchasing an EMP. Hopefully, the one that you checked out was just a lemon. My EMP is very well crafted.

My Dad just got one for a CCW. I shot his the other day and it was tight as a drum. I loved shooting it. I wish I had the coin to get one.

I like it a lot. I've thought about that gun for my wife.

Congrats on the EMP! Very nice indeed. Keep us updated on how it shoots.

It's either the 9mm EMP or the Spike's Tactical AR Rifle (.22LR) for my next toy.

Just FYI, the .40cal version is now available. I've seen them at one LGS and also on gunbroker.

An EMP 9mm will also be my CCW once I get it broken in, just need some time at the range. Great little gun, it seems. They come very tight, perhaps that's why the gf couldn't rack the slide? I'm told they loosen up after some good greasin'.
