Dan Wesson CBOB

Ever since my Kimber failed me, I have been in the market for a new carry gun. After debating between a 10mm, and another XD, I decided to stick with the 1911 platform for my carry gun. After I lot of research, I narrowed my options down to a Springfield Loaded or a Dan Wesson CBOB. After shooting both I decided on the Dan Wesson. The CBOB comes standard with a lot of Ed Brown parts and night sights. The sights aren't terribly bright, but they are sufficient.

My CBOB is a very tight gun. The fit and finish are superb. I have only put 100 rounds through it so far, but it is an accurate gun. The trigger break is good, and the pull is a touch over 5 pounds. For the money I think the CBOB is a very good value. My only quibble is that the mags that come with the gun are not that great. One magazine failed to feed the last round one time. A friend of mine has the same gun in 10mm, and he warned me about the mags. So I am going to get some new mags for my gun. Here are a few pics.

And here is a pic of my dog who was looking at me like I was crazy for taking pics of a gun

Overall I think I am going to use this as my carry gun. A few new mags and I will be good to go.

I have a Dan Wesson Pointman Seven in .45 acp and it has functioned flawlessly with 8 round Wilson Combat 47D mags.

She is a beauty! Get yourself some Wilson Mags for happiness.

What kind of holster will you set yourself up with?

Thanks.

I bought a supertuck for my Kimber and the CBOB fits it so I will stick with my supertuck. I really like that holster.

After my Kimber broke, I sold all my Wilson mags. Now I have to go and get more. Oh well, now I just have to find a good deal for them.

Thanks. I hope this one works out as my carry. If not, I am just going to get a Glock or an XD and get it worked on by Springer Precision and never mess with a 1911 for carrying again. But I have heard nothing but good things about the CBOB, so I think it will work.
