buying a kimber, 4" or 5"

Before I start, I know that some people prefer this gun or that gun over a Kimber. This is, however, not the thread for that discussion.

I have decided to pick up a CDP II and can't decide on 4" or 5". I think I prefer the ease of takedown with a barrel with a bushing. I prefer the cleaner look of the 4", but wonder if there is any perceptable difference in the accuracy of the 4" bull barrel over the 5" barrel with a bushing.

This is not going to be my carry gun, nor a target gun, just a fun gun. Any help is appreciated.

I'll have to see if I can dig up a pic of my 4" CDP, I've had it 5 years and it has spent a lot of time in a holster so its not very photogenic, It is however accurate light and reliable. One of these days I'll probably retire it but not untill I can find something I like better, not likely by the way.

For me, my 4" is perfect. 3" is too short, and the 5" is too long. This is what works best for me. You need to figure out what you're most comfortable with.

Unless you're gonna be shooting at 50 yards, I don't think accuracy is gonna play a huge role.

Got CDPs in 3 & 5 inches. Excellent shooters, easy to carry, reliable (if you can operate a 1911-some folks can't), very easy to disassemble and clean. I carry the smaller, play games with the larger.

I like the 5" myself...pondered a 4" for carry but I'm more likely to carry my XD...
