Kimber .22 conversion kit
I found a used kit with one magazine, looks hardly used for about $189 or so...I haven't heard much about them and with the cost of .45, I'm thinking about picking one up. Will these kits work with any 5" 1911? I have a Dan Wesson Pointman Seven in stainless and I'm wondering if there are any kits to avoid or anything in particular to look for.

I'd pick it up for $189...I haven't gotten a chance to use mine yet, as I'm planning to get about 500 rounds of .45 through my Kimber before I swap over to the conversion.
You should have no issues using that kit with a "normal" 5" 1911. Extra mags are about $25. |

The Federal 550 ammo seems to run better in anything that has been jamming with other lead tipped ammo. The federal is copper jacketed and solved my jamming problem on my P22 and is the choice of ammo for the Spikes Tactical AR .22 upper. I think that the copper really helps. And the price is still decent. Wally world has them for 11.97 per 550. Where you going to buy 1100 rounds for 24 bucks?
