A couple of Questions

Ok so I have about 200 rds through my SA 1911, and I have a couple of things that are worrying me a bit.

1. I disassembled the pistol for cleaning after my last range trip, and while cleaning the barrel the barrel link pin just fell out. Is it supposed to be this loose? I don't know if theres enough room inside the frame for it to work itself out while firing, but I don't think that would have a happy ending. Any thoughts?

2. I was examining my spent brass, and I noticed that they had burn marks on one side, like the rounds were not seating all the way(or slightly cocked).
Is this normal?

did you buy this new or used? i've had SA 1911's that the link pin was loose after they were shot a bit, but not in 200 rounds. anyway, the barrel lugs are trapped in a cutout in the frame, so the pin can't slide out in use.

maybe send a pic of your brass. every round, or a few? what ammo are you using?

A lot of my brass shows some "burn marks" on one side, namely my .38's. Probably not a huge deal...I've seen it pretty often.

The burn marks are usually from gas blow-by around the case. This often happens on low pressure rounds where the case does not expand enough to completely seal the chamber. It's nothing to worry about.
