Anyone here own one?
I was drooling over this 1911 from the first picture in the Guns and Ammo mag, just curious if anyone here has one and if you have shot it or plan on making it a collectors piece.

No, but I do have Ed Brown's top of the line model, the Classic Custom.
The Jeff Cooper is actually based off the Special Forces, which is Ed Brown's "entry" level 1911 at "only" $2K. The JC model runs $2300 as it has the engraving and comes with the leather bound defense book. All Ed Brown 1911s are extremely nice from the $2K Special Forces to the $3K Classic Custom. They all have the same greta build quality, just different features and finishes. I highly recommend one to anybody who wants a top shelf 1911. Here's the Classic Custom. I have the two tone version. It comes with a mirror finished slide and a bunch of other stuff. http://edbrown.com/htmlos.cgi/00359....98270814363145 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also have the Kobra Carry, which is one of EB's most popular models. http://edbrown.com/htmlos.cgi/00359....40776214363145 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Beautiful guns!

While those guns are awesome and great! It would be like owning an exotic car, something nice to have in the garage but afraid to leave in a Walmart parking lot. If I put a scratch on it I would kill myself!
Great guns though! |

OK, so that's more than I can afford for my wheels. Does it function 3 times better than a serviceable Springfield or Kimber? If you go for it, keep your eyes open that it's a luxury item (albeit a mighty fine one). If it's worth it to you, I say "enjoy"...and let us live vicariously through some posts with pictures.

I especially like.........I mean "love" that Kobra Carry. If I had one though I would have to put some rounds through it. I shoot every gun I own and have owned. If I had one of those I just couldn't keep it as a safe queen.
Very nice though. |
