Emp Help?

Hello all, I am new to the forum, been around some but have never joined.
I joined today to see if I could ask for some help. I have an EMP 9mm,
shot maybe 800 rds, through it. Last week I shot about 200, field stripped
and cleaned it good as always after shooting, put it back together and
cycled it a few times and put it in the safe. I pulled it out yesterday and I
cant get the slide to come back to the lock position. It wont go far enough back to take it apart again. I am at a loss now and wishing someone here has come across this problem and can help. If not I understand, there are not qualified gunsmiths here to take it to so I may
have to send it to Springfield to get it fixed. Thought I would give yall a try first. Thanks

Send it to me for a few years of fixing and testing. There are a few on here that have the EMP, they should be able to help. Don't have one yet....

Shortmag, I had the opposite problem. Mine would not go into battery.

My advice is to call Springfield and start the RMA process. I had mine back in one week.

Send a message via MSN to Bycyclist
Just call SA customer support - they might be able to walk you through it. I suspect that somehow the recoil spring isn't seating properly on the barrel. I know how I'd fix it on the XD, but the EMP is different so you should check with them.

I received my EMP 9 back from SPRINFIELD on friday. It appears that it was error in assembly on my part that might have caused the recoil spring to get stuck somehow. Ive had it apart numerous times without problem, but the last time something happened. Idont know how they fixed it but it is functioning flawlessly now. I hope it dosent happen to anyone else cause I guess the only fix is back to S.A. Thanks again.

I'm still waiting to get mine back. I think it was a bad choice to have my FFL send it in. Did SA reimburse you for shipping?
