Loaded Disassembly

I can't for the life of me break down my SA Loaded that I just purchased. I just can't figure out how to rotate the bushing. Can someone please point me in the right direction so I can go shoot this damn thing!

Have you tried a bushing wrench?
The recoil spring cap must be depressed also.

on the SA loaded....

loosen the hex head recoil spring rod, take the slide off, remove the recoil spring rod and spring completely, turn the bushing counter clockwise (sights on the table), remove the spring housing piece, rotate the bushing the opposite direction, slide the barrel and bushing out.

as a factory loaded it should not be tight enough to require a wrench.

check youtube for a video.

pretty simple once you figure it out.

BTW, be careful when your putting it back together...don't want to put an idiot mark on it.

Try unloading it the disassemble it. Its not very safe to clean a gun while its loaded. Sorry had to say it. They are tricky the first time but after that not too bad. Just take your time and you will get it.

QFT
If this is your first time...put a piece of masking tape (top and bottom of slide stop), and practice

Yep, use hex wrench to remove the rod guide (Loaded model?).
Depress the recoil spring plug, and rotate the bushing.
Be careful, and have a good grip of the recoil spring plug, because it will go shooting out fast if you do not hold on to it...(keep it pointed away from you).

Have fun!

Depress the plug and rotate the bushing clockwise. Careful, that sucker is pretty sharp.

As hard as I push, both with my thumb and a screw driver, I just can't get the plug to depress. Could I be doing something wrong or is it just stuck since it is new?

Well, I'll have to leave that to the experts. I can depress mine with my thumb(hurts like hell),but it will move. Try using some large that wont cause any damage(block o wood?) BTW, mine is brand new too.

that plug doesnt need to depress.....loosen the hex head before you take the slide off, remove the slide, keep your tumb on the spring and remove the hex head portion (2 piece guide rod assembly) of the guide rod...this will allow the spring to come off the slide (not through the plug). then rotate the bushing (should be relatively simple since there is no pressure on it), remove the plug, rotate it the other way and remove the barrel.
