I use Super Lube Grease Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease on the rail for the slide to frame and FP-10 for the rest.

Mobil 1. It can handle a 19,000 RPM 2.4 liter V8 putting out about 800 hp in the McLaren Formula one cars I think it will suit my 1911 just fine and it does.
