Removing ILS, what to replace it with?

I posted this on the 1911 forum but I don't think they're as fast as you guys

I'd like to lighten my trigger pull a little and get a crisper break out of the trigger. I went to the range and shot a few mags through my Kimber and then brought out my Springer loaded and it made me realize how much of a better trigger is on the Kimber.

I'd like to get my Springer to have that same feel. I saw what I need to get from a sticky over there and I'm ready to place an order, I just want to make sure I'm getting some quality stuff off the bat. I was looking on MidwayUSA.com and I think it just confused me a little more because theres simply so many options out there.

So is there anything I should be looking for or looking to stay away from?

What lbs mainspring is everything usually switching to? Should I look for chrome silicon or ss?

I've never shot a 1911 with an arched mainspring so I'll probably stick with the flat. Is there an advantage to either or is it mostly personal preference?

One last thing, is there an actual how to on replacing this stuff? The sticky explains what needs to be replaced but not how to do it. Once I do it the first time I should be good to go but I've never done it before and don't know if I should be expecting anything to go flying across the room.

If you have larger hands, the arched will fill your hand more. I prefer the arched, my wife prefers the flat.

Stick with quality parts from name makers and you should be ok.

There are books and all sorts of information out there on how to do it. It isn't hard, just takes some time.
