Question Which 1911 with lightrail for duty?

Which 1911 should I get for duty / carry use?

I don't know 1911s, but am impressed with them and have been shooting 30+ years. I've seen Kimber TLE/RL II, Warrior and Desert Warrior, Springfield Armory TRP w/rail and Lightweight Operator w/rail, S&W 1911 w/ rail, Sig GSR w/rail, or Taurus PT1911 w/rail (affordable!).

Well which one? The rail is necessary - not optional. I don't know who makes the better 1911. I know I cannot afford a Wilson, Baer, Nighthawk, STI, or Ed Brown.

Your wisdom is requested & appreciated!

when you get a chance look into the Springfield MC Operator.. great gun.. everything you need built like the U.S. Marine Corps wanted it built. i dont know your price range but this one comes in at about 900-1000.. if you dont have that kind of budget than look into the Springfield GI line.. fine weapons for the price.

i was never really impressed with kimber and a lot of what you pay for is in the name... now the SW1911 PD is a great 1911, my best friend has one of these and carries it over his Wilson CBQ.. im dead on it that, im just not a SA only type of shooter.

any of the 1911s you named will get you by, and with the 9 million interchangable parts for them you can always upgrade whatever you buy.

That one does look really good. I am not sure about getting a green 1911, but that's just me. What do you think of the Lightweight Operator?
