broke my slide stop

Today while shooting my 70 series national match the slide stop broke after 32 years of service what I want to know is will other makes of slide stops work in my pistol. midway has several different makes for sale in prices ranging from 4.95 for smith and wesson to about 30 dollars for more high end brands but I want to know if they are interchangeable any recommendations?
thanks

Why not call Colt? (800-962-COLT, ask for Jennifer in Customer Service) they'll likely send you one for free, and if it only lasts another 32 years, you will be able to point to a pattern of defective items.

For that pistol, I'd go back with factory Colt. You can get genuine Colt parts from Colt or Brownells website. You know it will fit, you know it lasts 30 years, and it will be original to the gun. Not a whole lot of benefit to an upgraded slide stop.

Colt didn't have the part in stock and I was given phone numbers for some of their vendors. I ordered one from midway as I wanted some bullets and then I will have the time to look for a colt replacement.

I have a Wilson Bulletproof slidestop in my 1973 Combat Commander. No problems at all. I also reccommend their Bulletproof extractor. Wilson makes good stuff!

I use a lot of Wilson parts and I am extremely happy with them. I broke my wilson extended safety a couple of years ago. I contacted them and they sent me a new one for free. There stuff is the best in my opinion.

I got my package from midwey this morning. I was surprised that it got to me so quickly. I ordered bullets and a slide stop on tuesday about 12:15 and they showed up at 10:30 at my door. The slide stop is a swenson looks okay but is matte. I will use the gun asap and if it works well then I will polish it up and get it cold blued at work and it was a drop in fit.

My Dan Wesson came with a Wilson Bullet Proof slide stop from the factory.
