Probably less than the number of marines who shot themselves with their M9's

That I agree with training is what matters. I just did not like the crack on cops you made earlier.

LOL It was clearly a crack on leadership that see Glocks as more "safe" than other platforms (epsecially those with those scary hammers cocked back). No offense meant against cops.

Departments obviously have a say in what their officers carry.

I am not looking for a pissing contest, but apparently you are by taking my comment out of context. I won't comment further on weapons proficiency or this will go downhill fast.

Which Don Hume is it that you have ? I was looking at Don Hume for my Compact 1911. Can you tell me the name and model? I have lots of Don Hume holsters but no IWB's.

Ok I am sorry if I took your comment out of context. As for weapon proficiency not all departments are created equally. The national hit ratio for law enforcement is 20 to 25%. In Alaska the average is in the mid 80% range and used to be as high as 90%.

But the military is actually worse if you consider how many rounds are fired down range to get a single hit. I believe it was 500 rounds in Vietnam for every enemy hit.

I will compliment the Marine corps on one issue they shoot their rifles well. Most of the officers I have had that were former marines shot well with their patrol rifles and shotguns. Not so much with their pistols. I can't say that of other military branches. I have one officer who is currently in the guard who brags about all his weapons training and how he is sniper trained but when I take him to the range he can barely qualify. It makes me question what ever standard the Army National guard has for weapon proficiency.

I carry a Springfield Champion in either a Galco Miami Classic Shoulder holster or an El Paso Sadlery insidethe pants holster. I own other guns, but the Champion is my choice year round.

You need to add two zeros to the end of that 500.

It was 50,000 rounds expended for a single kill by regular infantrymen. From what I've been able to find.

If I am not mistaken I think I read the same figure as you (50,000).

Spray and pray.
