I've got a Colt Combat commander and decided i wanted another 1911, so I picked up a PT1911. It's really good for the price, and I even got mine with the Crimson Trace Grips for $699. Mine's a "Homeland Defender" model. i think the basic PT1911s go for a little more than $500

I am wanting a 1911 pretty bad right now. I learned to shoot a pistol with a Military issue 1911. Then I had one for many years. I have not had one in ten years now.

I am looking long and Hard at the Springfield Loaded 1911-A1.

For some reason I am really drawn the the springfield's, my last was a colt.

There's no question in my mind that the United States spends too much on the military - whatever they're spending it on!!

I have no sympathy for Americans who are complaining about gas prices.

I have an S&W 1911 and it has the worst trigger of any 1911 I've ever stroked.

I was hoping that more rounds through it would smooth it out, but alas, that has not happened yet in spite of my best efforts.

The gun was a gift, so trading it off is not a good option. Guess I'll have to spend money to have a 'smith take care of it.

That said, I've heard great things about the Taurus 1911's.

Call S&W. Explain the situation. Chances are they will send you a shipping label. Send the gun out . Within 10 days you will have a pistol that will make you very happy.

Since this thread is still going I guess I'll update it.

Went to the range yesterday to put 200 rounds through my XD9 (~2200 rounds now... still not a single issue. ) and looked around at their 1911s again. This time they had a very nice one...
Kimber - Continuing The Legacy

Tempting... even though it is on the expensive side at just over $1400. Probably not very much bad to be said about a custom shop Kimber though.

You would be surprised. If you have that kind of scratch then head over to Fusion Firearms and take a look.

Or look at the Dan Wesson pistols. My DW CBOB has the tightest frame to rail fit I have ever seen. And it works like a champ.

If Bob Serva touches it it will be good.

Some will probably make fun of me...

But I really dig the Rock Island Armory 1911's.

I'm picking one up soon.

Have another in .38 super.

Fantastic in all respects.

I'll be getting another one to replace the one I had and sold for extra gas money to move very soon.
