New 1911 owner

Well I was at the gun store looking around at a few 1911's. Spotted a sexy Kimber eclipse pro II and held/fondled it. It took me about an hour before I took the plunge into the 1911 world. I purchased it and shot it right away comparing it to my XD. All I can say is that I am very impressed with it and sad to say that the XD might have to go...

The 1911 does make the XD seem sub-par (even though its a great pistol).

I picked up a 1911 months ago and havent shot an XD since

I will have to agree. I traded my XD9 for a Springfield 1911 Ultra Compact and have to say its been a great addition to my collection.

Why not keep both? They are both great pistols!

Agreed. Plus, in a justified self-defense situation where you'd most likely end up losing your gun to politics, which would you rather let go of, a $400-$600 XD or a $700-$1500 Kimber?
