Loading an individual round straight into the chamber can be hard on INTERNAL extractors. Externals don't mind. Same goes for hi-powers.
The only time my slide closes on an empty chamber is for a function check after I clean and reassemble one of mine. If you ride the slide down it may not go completely into battery, esp with a worn recoil spring. |

assuming while you were pulling the slide back and all if the magazine is empty it will catch and stay open. drop the mag pull the slide again it closes.if there is ammo in the mag it will chamber a round and fire until mag is empty then lock back again.
