Good Price on a Mil Spec?

Hey everybody, i recently found this forum from browsing on TFL and being an XD fan, here I am!

Now, onto my question....is $499 a good price for a NIB Mil Spec .45, Parkerized finish? It seems good to me, but Im not sure. My second dilema is that I have been wanting an XD .45 Compact for awhile now and if i get the Mil Spec, it will postpone my XD purchase for awhile (unless i sell my S&W .44 mag, but thats a different story all together). Would you rather get the XD and pass on the Mil Spec deal, or should i jump on this deal before its too late??

If it matters, either gun will be used for carry and range shooting, possibly a little competition shooting(I'm just starting to look into this, so it may be a while before it happens)

Thanks!

-Corey

Sounds like a good price. I've seen them online for about $550 plus FFL. Most dealers are higher.

your talking about the milspec springfield 1911 right?

i looked on impact guns website and they have it listed for 571.XX so it does seem like a good deal. usually the GI models cost 499.xx+. XDs are pretty common so it might be easier to find an xd in the future where as the mil-spec might be hard to find that deal again. But the compact models seem to be alot harder to find here in boise, idaho.

i guess it all depends which one you like more

To clarify, yes its the Springfield 1911 Mill Spec, 5" .45 ACP. XDs are relatively common in my area so i dont think it'd be difficult to run one down if i go that way.

yup sounds right, I paid $499 for the GI, MilSpec seems to go for a bit higher!

Love the xd but get the mil spec, as stated the mil spec usually cost more so you would be getting a good deal on it. also for ccw the 1911 has a slimmer frame making it easier to conceal so long as you get a good holster it does weigh a bit more but you'll get used to it,and as also stated the xd's are not going anywhere and the prices are staying in the same range so you should easily find one later.

Saw them at the last gun show for $450-$500 so sounds reasonable. This was the parkerized finish

Thanks and the one im looking at is parkerized as well. Id like to only spend 450 on it, but ill pay an extra 50 bux to get it NIB from a reputable dealer and me being the only owner, so i know how the gun was taken care of. thats worth some extra money in my eyes
